GROW
GREEN BAY

Smarter Growth.
Better Policy.
Stronger Green Bay.

Grow Green Bay is an independent, locally focused civic organization working to improve how Green Bay grows, governs, and invests for a stronger future.

Rooted in Green Bay

Our work is rooted in Green Bay—not national politics. We focus on local challenges, local opportunities, and solutions that can produce measurable results for the people who live, work, build businesses, and raise families here.

Independent and Nonpartisan

We are an independent, nonpartisan organization. Our work is organized so that public-policy research and civic education remain appropriately distinct from electoral and political activities.

Focused on Results

We bring together research, public engagement, community accountability, and practical advocacy to help our community make better decisions for the future.

Fiscally Responsible

We're committed to advancing smart, fiscally responsible, and community-centered policies that strengthen our economy, improve quality of life, and build long-term resilience for the people of Green Bay and Brown County.

Why We Exist

Greater Green Bay is growing and changing, but many of the decisions shaping our future are still being made without sufficient long-term planning, public participation, or reliable data.

Infrastructure and land-use decisions can create costs that last for generations. Housing and zoning policies have not always kept pace with the needs of today's residents. Government budgets often address immediate problems without fully considering long-term sustainability. At the same time, too many residents feel disconnected from local decision-making.

Grow Green Bay was created to change that.

We believe Green Bay deserves better tools, better data, and better conversations about the choices that will define our community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance smart, fiscally responsible, and community-centered policies that strengthen our economy, improve quality of life, and build long-term resilience for the people of Green Bay and Brown County.

We are not interested in criticism for its own sake. We want to identify what is not working, explain why it matters, and develop credible solutions that residents and public officials can put into action.

What We Do

Research & Policy Development

We examine the issues that have the greatest effect on Green Bay's future, including housing, zoning, transportation, safety, economic development, infrastructure, government spending, and neighborhood investment. Our reports and policy briefs translate complex public issues into clear information, practical recommendations, and measurable outcomes.

Government Accountability

Residents should be able to understand how decisions are made, how public money is used, and how elected officials vote on significant community issues. Grow Green Bay develops public accountability tools — including policy scorecards, voting records, budget analysis, and performance measures — that make local government more transparent and accessible.

Civic Engagement

A strong community depends on residents who are informed, included, and prepared to participate. We create opportunities for meaningful public involvement through neighborhood roundtables, town halls, listening sessions, workshops, digital resources, and community briefings. Our goal is not simply to speak to residents, but to listen to them and help their ideas influence public policy.

Advocacy & Community Leadership

Research matters only when it leads to action. We build coalitions, communicate policy ideas, organize around important local issues, and support the development of capable civic leaders. Grow Green Bay's broader model combines policy expertise, public communication, civic engagement, and long-term leadership development to create lasting local impact.

Our Guiding Principles

Smart, Incremental Growth

We support development that strengthens existing neighborhoods, uses infrastructure responsibly, and builds up—not simply out.

Fiscal Responsibility

Every public dollar should produce clear and lasting value for the community.

Accountable Government

Residents deserve transparent decision-making, performance accountability, and open information.

Economic Opportunity

Green Bay should be a place where entrepreneurs, employers, workers, and families can succeed.

Civic Engagement

People should have the information, tools, and opportunities necessary to shape their community.

Constructive Reform

We work to improve institutions, not simply criticize them.

Local Solutions

Our focus is Green Bay and Brown County—not divisions or talking points of national politics.

Why This Moment Matters

Green Bay is entering an important period in which decisions about housing, infrastructure, taxes, economic development, and local leadership will shape the city for decades.

Building Green Bay's Future Together

Green Bay's future should not be shaped only by insiders, institutions, or the loudest voices in the room. It should be shaped by informed residents, responsible leaders, credible research, and a shared commitment to making our community stronger. Grow Green Bay is creating the tools, leadership, and public forum we need to make that possible.
